"Renowned Professor Barbara Sawicka Joins Algerian Journal of Engineering and Technology as Associate Editor, Bringing Vast Expertise in Agronomy and Food Sciences"

We are pleased to welcome Professor Barbara Sawicka to our editorial team at the Algerian Journal of Engineering and Technology as an associate editor. Professor Sawicka is a full professor and professor doctor habilitated in the Department of Plant Production Technology and Commodities Science at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, Poland. With extensive experience and productivity in her field, Professor Sawicka is one of the most accomplished researchers in her area of expertise.

Professor Sawicka has an impressive academic background, having been awarded scholarships from esteemed institutions such as the Institute of Potato in Młochów, Institute of Potato in Jadwisin, University of Agriculture Kaunas, Aleksandra's Stulginskis University, Bingol University, and Lithuanian Center for Agriculture and Forestry Sciences Kėdainiai. She has also authored more than 1,012 publications, including 152 monographs and chapters of monographs, 388 original research papers, 20 books, and 2 patents.

Aside from her outstanding academic achievements, Professor Sawicka has also made significant contributions to the teaching community. She has supervised 11 PhDs, over 190 MScs, and 250 engineers. She has also reviewed 45 PhD dissertations, 22 postdoctoral works, and 15 applications for the title of professor. Professor Sawicka is an active member of various scientific organizations, including the Polish Agronomic Society, the Lublin Scientific Society, and the Meteorology and Climatology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Lublin branch, among others.

Professor Sawicka areas of interest are Agronomy, Bioengineering, Commodity Products, Environmental Protection, Food Sciences, and Food Safety. Her research topics include sustainable agriculture, organic and integrated systems of cultivation of plants, phenotypic variability of cultivated plants, environmentally friendly methods to improve the health of plant materials, seed production, physiological indicators in the assessment of crop yields, assessment of post-harvest plant materials, qualitative assessment of food products of plant origin, food safety, risks in agriculture and food processing, climatic hazards, and commodities science.
